Sewing update

I am not good at this blogging thing. I'm thinking Instagram might be a better thing for me. But here's what I've been up to the last month-ish.

◇Coachella shorts (the striped ones with gold ricrac)
◇bow ties and tea towels
◇Scrundlewear from S.U.A.T.
◇Alabama Chanin red polka dot tank and Butterick 4198 shorts

Love Notions Trendy Tunic

◇Always Autumn Moccasins

◇ bridesmaid dress (the pattern escapes me right now)

A few baby things I have been working on

The first is an outfit for a birthday present. Upcycled women's button down into a tunic and a pair of brown polka dot  Coachella shorts (pattern: striped swallow design).

Next is a sun suit using Dana Made It free diaper bloomer pattern. I extended the front panel up, lined the front, and added straps.

Last, is a mommy and me top with a crochet yoke pattern I found floating around on pinterest  (I can't remember the source right now). Also a basic at bag using some gorgeous PUL from the fabric snob.

Megan Nielsen nursing top (take 3)

The first was a muslin made with 4 way stretch (not pictured) and it was way too big.

The navy stripe is a 2 way knit from my stash (probably a good chance it came from the $1/yd rack at wally world) and it fit great.  If you look at the pattern,  you'll notice this version isn't on there.  I used view A, with the following mods:

-made sleeves 3/4 length
-added a 18"×22" rectangle of fabric to the bottom
-underlined the top pieces because I didn't feel like top stitching it all

The aqua version (fabric from GirlCharlee) mods:

-omitted sleeves and scooped out the armscye to make more tank like
-finished the arm holes with a band serged on
-extended back piece to 32" & curved out to accommodate hips & booty
-extended one front piece to 30"

Birthday Bustle Backpack

A sweet little girl who loves Frozen invited E to her birthday party.  I decided I would take advantage of getting to sew girlie things for once!

My Week In Instagram: Total Foodie

Punkin and I have been devising up quite a few house projects, so we've been hanging out at home a lot more lately. The best reward from this? I spend more time in my garden and haven't killed any plants yet this summer; which means more bounty!

It's Christmas-time in the Country

We've been on the ball with getting our Christmas decorations up in record time this year. Thanksgiving weekend we has the tree up and shortly thereafter had it decorated and all the presents wrapped. Now, we have the entire month for relaxing with numerous cups of St Lucian cocoa tea!
